Bald Eagle - Haliaeetus leucocephalus. On a quest for yet another bird species at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, I ventured on the 5 mile drive, stopping at the viewpoints. To my surprise at one of the viewpoints overlooking the cliffs and Puget Sound there were 6-8 bald eagles riding the wind almost at eye level! what an adrenaline rush!
